The COVID 19 situation has hit all of us with a deadly blow, more especially the underprivileged communities. At the outset we have made two hamper distributions to 60 and then to 70 families. We have then realized that adults will somehow fend for themselves; whilst young children are seriously challenged. If there's no food at home, the young child cannot go out and find food or change the situation in any way. So from the 18 May 2020 we have diverted our focus to concentrate on feeding the children from these underprivileged communities. Remember that people all over the country and all over the world for that matter are suffering.
We cannot assist more than we are capable of and therefore our concentration is to help the children within our community. Also bearing in mind that the children from these communities are members of our sports club. In the first week we only managed to feed 2 or 3 informal settlements. From the second week to date we have successfully fed six informal settlements with a freshly prepared hot meal or sandwiches. A program of this magnitude cannot be undertaken alone and therefore thanks goes out to all those that have assisted. We are continously looking for assistance from individuals and corporates to ensure the program is sustained.
